How it all began

Our charity was born in the 1920s, when a group of mates built a makeshift braille-dial radio—or ‘wireless’—for their friend, blinded war veteran Sir Ernest Towse.

That simple act of love brought so much joy to Ernest that he created British Wireless for the Blind Fund, the charity now called Visably.
